Glen Powell Reboots The Running Man With Edgar Wright Following Twisters Success - 최신 뉴스 및 분석

The Rebirth of the Charismatic Multiplex Hero

In an era where many declared the traditional, swaggering Hollywood movie star obsolete, Glen Powell has delivered a masterclass in audience seduction. Following back-to-back box office triumphs in romantic comedy Anyone But You ($220M) and disaster blockbuster Twisters ($370M), Powell has secured the lead in Paramount Pictures' reboot of The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Hot Fuzz).

Unlike the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle, Wright and co-writer Michael Bacall are returning directly to Stephen King's original 1982 novella (written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman). The film crafts a dystopian, razor-sharp satire of modern television media and economic inequality.

Edgar Wright's Kinetic Action Vision

Powell portrays Ben Richards, an impoverished working-class father who volunteers for a deadly, nationally broadcast reality game show where contestants must evade professional assassins for 30 days to win a life-altering cash purse:

•

• Grueling Physical Regimen: Powell trained in high-speed urban sprint mechanics, parkour, and tactical combat across London soundstages.

• Ensemble Additions: Co-stars Josh Brolin, Katy O'Brian, Lee Pace, and Colman Domingo round out a powerhouse cast.

• Producing Ventures: Powell simultaneously developed Hulu comedy series Chad Powers and co-wrote Richard Linklater's acclaimed Hit Man.

Box Office Valuation and Ascending Net Worth

With an audited net worth evaluated at $15 Million, Powell's ability to blend self-aware humor, classical romantic charm, and intense physical discipline has made him one of the most profitable investments in modern Hollywood.
