Brad Pitt Commands High-Stakes Formula 1 Blockbuster Production Directed by Joseph Kosinski

Brad Pitt Takes the Wheel in Hollywood's Most Ambitious Racing Epic

Two-time Academy Award winner Brad Pitt is set to lead one of the most technically audacious and high-budget cinematic spectacles of the modern era with Apple Original Films' F1. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer alongside seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, the project brings unprecedented practical filmmaking techniques to the world's premier motorsport.

Rather than relying on green screens and CGI simulations, Pitt—portraying fictional veteran driver Sonny Hayes—underwent extensive professional racing training, driving modified Formula 2 cars at speeds exceeding 150 miles per hour on active Grand Prix circuits, including Silverstone, Monza, and Abu Dhabi, in full view of live race weekend spectators.

Lewis Hamilton and the Quest for Uncompromising Authenticity

Hamilton's active involvement as producer ensured that every technical nuance, pit-stop protocol, and team dynamic mirrored the intense reality of modern Formula 1 competition. Sony developed custom miniaturized 6K digital cinema cameras specifically for the film, mounted inside the cockpits to capture visceral, claustrophobic driver perspectives never before achieved on the big screen.

• Blockbuster Theatrical Distribution: Warner Bros. secured global theatrical distribution rights for the Apple-financed spectacle, guaranteeing a massive worldwide IMAX rollout.
• Plan B Entertainment Legacy: Pitt's production company has produced three Best Picture Oscar winners (The Departed, 12 Years a Slave, and Moonlight), proving his keen eye for cinematic quality.
• Château Miraval Provence Estate: Despite ongoing legal disputes, Pitt continues to oversee the Miraval Provence rosé wine brand and state-of-the-art recording studio.

Approaching four decades at the apex of the film industry, Brad Pitt maintains an enviable balance between charismatic action hero stardom and taste-making independent production. His fearless commitment to physical stunt driving in F1 reaffirms his dedication to thrilling, large-format theatrical exhibition.
