The anime adaptation of the Touken Ranbu Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji stage play, titled “Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji,” has been announced to premiere in April. The unveiling took place during the “Touken Ranbu Online Ninth Anniversary’s Eve! Nine Big Announcements Starting at Nine” event. Alongside the announcement, a teaser promotional video and visual were released.

The Touken Ranbu Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji stage play is the first of 15 non-musical stage plays in the Touken Ranbu Online franchise. It follows Fudō Yukimitsu, the anthropomorphized sword received by legendary leader Oda Nobunaga.
The Touken Ranbu franchise, known for its sword personification training game, has expanded into various media, including anime series, films, live-action adaptations, and stage plays.
The upcoming anime is directed by Kazuya Ichikawa, with Kenichi Suemitsu overseeing the series scripts. Mari Takada is responsible for character design, and Ryūnosuke Kasai is composing the music. The stage play’s cast members will reprise their roles for the anime adaptation.
