José Octavio Gutiérrez Arias (hailing from a birth on 12 March 1930), known professionally as Octavio Arias, is a distinguished Mexican actor. He began an acting path in the industry in 1950, debuting in theater with the play Boy meets girl (1950).
Biography & Career
A year later, he joined the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema and made his film debut with uncredited roles in El suavecito and Todos son mis hijos, both from 1951. After another unnoticed character in Un gallo en corral ajeno (1952), he portrayed his first recognized part in 1953 with the drama Aventura en Río. His later works in the Golden Age included La perversa (1954), María la voz (1955), Amor y pecado (1956) and Esposas infieles (1956). In 1957, he married actress Ana Luisa Peluffo, whom he divorced the same year due to his intense work schedules. He continued to appear in films till the late 50s, retiring from entertainment media in 1958. His final acting credits compassed Cinco vidas y un destino (1957), La virtud desnuda (1957), Asesinos, S.A.
