Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup have tied the knot once again. One year after their intimate and discreet civil wedding in a courthouse in New York, the couple exchanged vows again in a luxurious reception with family and friends in Mexico. The actress’s brother, Ben, shared images of the wedding, where the bride wore a simple yet elegant white dress inspired by Greek style with straps, draped neckline, and an exposed back, adorned with a beautiful bouquet of white anemones.
The star of the series Vigilante was radiant, but above all, happy to celebrate with her closest loved ones. She wore her hair in a low bun with loose strands, while the actor from Alien: Covenant looked very elegant in a black suit. Naomi’s daughter, Kai, 15, and her niece Ruby, acted as bridesmaids and wore champagne-colored dresses with sweetheart necklines and ruching at the waist, with semi-up hairstyles. Also present at the wedding was Naomi’s other son with her ex Liev Schreiber, Sasha, 16, who acted as the best man and escorted his emotional mother down the aisle, while the groom, Billy Crudup, arrived with his son William, 20, from his relationship with Mary-Louise Parker.
Ben Watts, the actress’s brother who acted as the photographer for the celebration, shared videos from inside the ceremony, such as the one featuring the actress’s mother, Myfanwy Edwards, who was very nervous before the vows: “The ceremony is about to begin in this fantastic place… the moms are a little emotional, understandably.”
One of the actress’s best friends, Nicole Kidman, couldn’t miss the wedding. They posed together in a photograph before the celebration, in which Naomi’s mother also appeared. “Feet never touched the ground! #thebride,” says Kidman as she embraces Watts and lifts her in the air. The Oscar-winning actress from The Hours and the actress from The Impossible met when they were both 15 years old at a swimsuit casting.
A day before the celebration, the couple hosted a dinner for their guests, where Watts wore a mustard-colored floral dress and Crudup wore a suit. Together, they gave a speech about how important it was for them to take this step surrounded by their loved ones. “This is a reminder of what life is,” Naomi said as she looked at her husband, who gazed at her adoringly and held her hand. “Affirming love is one of the simplest but most important things,” Naomi added as part of a speech full of emotion.
These days of celebration were attended by the couple’s intimate friends, including the aforementioned Nicole Kidman, and Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston’s ex-husband, who attended with his girlfriend, Nicole Brydon Bloom, whom he officially introduced at the last Oscars night.
Watts and Crudup fell in love in 2017 during the filming of the Netflix drama Gypsy. Since their love story began, they have always tried to keep their relationship as discreet as possible, and it wasn’t until 2022, during the SAG Awards red carpet, that they made their official debut as a couple. For his part, Watts’s ex-husband and father of her children, Liev Schreiber, also found love again with model and former Miss South Dakota, Taylor Neisen, and they had a daughter named Hazel Bee.
